Welcome to Preference-SQL Developer Trac System and Wiki
Trac is a so-called Issue-Tracking-System that facilitates the administration of tasks and responsibilities. A brief introduction concerning the functionalities and common usage is given in the introduction section.
The local Trac installation is used to coordinate the maintenance and development of Preference SQL at the Chair for Databases and Information Systems (DBIS) at the University of Augsburg. All developers are therefore urged to use the system as first reference for all questions concerning the development process. Furthermore, everybody should feel encouraged to document project descriptions, best practices and all other important information concerning Preference-SQL in the associated Wiki.
Important guideline: The Wiki is meant to be used for documentation purposes only! For occuring problems and discussions, users are referred to the ticket system.
Read the guidelines on writing wiki entries.
Essential Content
- Introduction to PSQL
- SQL Standards
Projects
This section provides an insight into current projects in progress:
- Exemplary template to be used for describing a project
Best Practices
Besides being useful for documentation purposes, the wiki also provides a collection of common problems and corresponding solutions. Reoccuring problems should therefore be described in the Best Practices section together with a working solution in order to facilitate the work of other developers who might be running into the same problems. This approach successfully avoids reinventing the wheel over and over again.
If a solution is not yet documented, feel free to be the first user to write a page for it.
